We have some of the most beautiful
sunsets here in New Mexico. The sky can blend from a golden yellow
orange near
the horizon to a deep royal blue just overhead while the clouds can
burn with
electric pinks as the sun’s last light skims their undersides and
leaves the
upper parts to fade into smoky purples.
That’s when most people say,
“Show’s over! What a great sunset that was!”
But
I’ve started to linger just a while longer. The after-show Just
After Sunset is just as beautiful, in a more subtle
and gentle way. The
sky fades to the softest of pinks and the clouds, now completely out of
the
sun’s direct light, switch to shades of light to dark baby blue and
float
slowly and gracefully into the night. |
